Michael Munsey is a petroleum engineer and oil and gas executive with experience across production engineering, completions, reservoir engineering, asset management, acquisitions and company leadership. He founded Summit Natural Resources in 2014 to combine disciplined technical evaluation with hands-on operating execution.

At Summit, Mr. Munsey has been responsible for company strategy, capital allocation, reserves, commodity hedging and the selection and execution of operating projects. Following Summit's acquisition of 662 operated natural gas wells in Alabama, Virginia and West Virginia, the team completed 339 workovers, improved the portfolio's base-production decline and reduced lease operating expenses while operating through the COVID-19 pandemic. The investment produced a realized 18.42% sponsor internal rate of return and 1.95x multiple on invested capital.

Earlier, Mr. Munsey served as Operations Manager and Asset Manager at WildHorse Resources. His responsibilities included integrating producing assets, recruiting engineering and field personnel, designing completion programs, optimizing compression and identifying development inventory in North Louisiana and East Texas.

At Devon Energy, he held senior production and reservoir engineering roles supporting more than 540 wells and the early vertical and horizontal Haynesville and Bossier shale programs. His work included stimulation design, production and reserve forecasting, rate-transient analysis, well-spacing evaluation, economic screening and technical mentoring. He began his career with Halliburton, where he spent nine years in production-enhancement and cementing roles as a Senior Technical Adviser.

Before joining Summit, Mr. Noble worked as a landman for Core Minerals Operating Company and owned Arc Land and Energy Services, where his responsibilities included oil and gas and mineral ownership research, title curative, fee and lease mineral acquisitions, rights-of-way, easements and mapping.

His earlier legal career included service as an Assistant County Attorney in Henderson County, Kentucky, and private practice through The Noble Law Office. That combination of legal practice and field-level land experience provides Summit with an integrated view of ownership, title, contracts and execution risk.
